Writing Hit Country Song Lyrics eBook Eric Kent Edstrom
This is more of an essay than a book, which works. You'll get through it in a short sitting. The information is concise and valuable. The author covers rhyming, work habits, structure, and several other topics that we (financially)unsuccessful songwriters tend to forget. I have browsed a few texts on songwriting and this distills it to the basics without a great deal of rhetoric and useless information.Let's face it, no book is going to make you a hit songwriter. If you have the raw talent this can help you develop it to a marketable skill. He also refers you to other books to keep you on the road of developing your lyric writing. If you are a musician looking to refine your lyric writing for a more broad appeal this short read is invaluable.
The link to the example song was dead, I did find it by googling though so no biggie.

Writing Hit Country Song Lyrics eBook Eric Kent Edstrom Reviews
Several of the chapters are less than a page in length.
The only thing I learned from this book was to check the page count before buying a book.
Most book previews are longer.
Sorry Eric but it was a waste of money...
This book was not what it was made out to be very small and hard to understand.
I would not recomend this.
I'm very satisfied with Eric's book. He's found success writing country songs, but everything in his book holds true; no matter what genre you write in. It's a short read, and the wording is perfect. He even suggests other reads that will improve your songwriting. Not too many authors willingly do this. If you find impatience reading 100 pg. books, you can get more info in a quarter the time. THIS....is the book to want.
this reading has valuable information; I like it because of its simplicity of understanding.
great reading--at least to keep in the shelve.
a bit boring.
This is a quick read with solid ideas, analysis and suggestions from someone who knows what he is talking about and has succeeded.
